2017 has been a busy year so far at Whitlenge with major upgrades inside and out. You can now walk along a beautifully blockpaved path from the car park down to the Tearooms and the Nursery. We've also had a complete refit of the Tearooms with a new kitchen and stunning new entrance foyer.
The show involved Keith Southall giving Alan a tour of the gardens and Alan taking a great interest in Keith's use of walls and water features.
The picture above shows Alan, Keith and Fran at the "Moon Gate" door set in a wall with surrounding water features.
As part of his visit to Whitlenge Gardens Alan also returned to the award winning Hornbeam Gazebo he featured on Gardeners World back in 2002!
The gardens are open 7 days a week so why not come and see the gardens for yourself?
We're thrilled to announce that Whitlenge Garden Centre and Tea Rooms has been selected for the Trip Advisor 2016 Certificate of Excellence, reflecting the consistently great reviews our customers have posted on TripAdvisor.
We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers who have taken the time to post a review!
We have totally rebuilt our plant nursery over the winter. The nursery has all new presentation benches and walkways to help inspire you with ideas for your garden as well.
The plants are organised by area and purpose e.g. "Low growing" "Sun-loving" etc so you can be confident in choosing your plants.... read more
Take in the sounds of the many water features, from the peaceful ripples of the mill stone bubbler, to the babbling of the beautiful man-made waterfalls, from spouting water lizards to a full 100 foot stream and pond system. Walk the twisted brick pergola lined with fan trained apples and pears which create a beautiful blossom walk in the spring.
Sit in the living hornbeam gazebo, part of a RHS award winning garden exhibited at the Malvern Spring show and the N.E.C., which inspired Alan Titchmarsh to present Gardeners World Live from inside it!
Children enter if you dare the mysterious man made cave complete with atmospheric swirling mists, and something lurking in the depths. You must take the time to walk the universal path of the beautiful turf labyrinth, which awards you a 'wish' when you reach the middle, then contemplate the stone circle which is aligned according to the years solstices and equinoxes. Remember to introduce yourself to the Green Man, and then let the kids go wild in the new Adventure Playground. NB Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
We can offer children's birthday parties with a full party tea, pass-the-parcel, party bags to take home and a treasure hunt in the garden. Cost: £9.50 per child.
We can also supply a birthday cake (extra charge) or you can bring your own.
